- Vision: Becoming one of the leading, high-caliber and reputable educational and research institutions, enjoying both national and international accreditation.  

  -Mission:  The establishment and activation of an internal system of quality assurance in the fields of education, scientific research, and community service, as well as qualifying the Faculty for local and international accreditation, while ensuring the excellence of the Faculty through qualifying it for institutional accreditation.

-      Promoting awareness of quality culture within the Faculty s community.

-      Building trained and effective academic cadres in the fields of performance evaluation, quality assurance and accreditation.

About the Unit

The Quality Assurance Unit (QAU) at the Faculty of Economics and Political Science was established in 2004. The Unit administratively follows the Dean's Office and is responsible for the establishment of the evaluation and quality assurance system for the educational, research and service systems at the Faculty.  The Unit is technically a branch of the Cairo University Quality Assurance Center, while being administratively affiliated with the Dean s office. The establishment of the Quality Assurance Unit at the Faculty of Economics and Political Science preceded that of The National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education -NAQAAE-, which was established in 2007.

The Leadership of the QAU at the Faculty, has been successively managed in an institutional manner, whereas Professor Abdel Hameed Negm _ the Professor in the Statistics Department- is considered to be one of the founding fathers of the QAU within the faculty, the march of the institutional work was continued by Prof. Reda Mazloum - the Professor in the Statistics Department-, afterwards, leadership of the unit was heled by Dr. Azza El-Naggar. Currently, Dr. Mona Abdel Shafi is responsible for managing the unit accompanied by a team that is trained and specialized in the field of quality assurance.

   The functions of the QAU have expanded to include keeping up-to-date with the local and global developments in the field of education, scientific research as well as the administrative services provided by the faculty. It targets preparing the faculty for qualifying for Institutional Excellence awards; and in 2021, the faculty was awarded the Egyptian Government Institutional Excellence Award. The unit also prepared the Faculty to acquire the ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 21001:2018 certifications on 10/6/2021.

News:

   -      -The Quality Assurance Unit prepares the Faculty for the renewal of the institutional accreditation from the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education (NAQAAE) during the current academic year (2021/2022).

-      -The Quality Assurance Unit is preparing for the external audit for the mid-term renewal of the ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 21001:2018 certificates.
