CPRSID

Located inside Cairo University's Faculty of Economics and Political Science (FEPS), since its establishment, CPRSID has been contributing to Egyptian and Arab political science literature.

Over three decades, the centre has been headed by many of the pioneers of political science in the Arab World and contributed to research in comparative politics, international relations, political sociology, political theory, with a focus on both Egypt and the Arab World.  In 2014, the CPRSID joined forces with the Centre for Civilisational Studies and Intercultural dialogue, the first academic research unit at FEPS - and in Cairo University - to focus on cultural and value-based dimensions of political and social phenomena.

Since 2014, studying values became one central component of CPRSID's research agenda.

CPRSID's Objectives

CPRSID's main objective is to conduct research as well as to provide institutional support for political science research, with a focus on Egypt and the Arab World. It also provides support for Egyptian public institutions that may need commissioned research or political analyses on certain topics.  Training is one essential mission of CPRSID. It provides regular training on political and social research methodologies with the aim of strengthening the capacity of Egyptian and Arab researchers to produce research that is publishable in high impacted peer-reviewed journals.
