The Center for Surveys and Statistical Applications; CSSA; has been established in May 2002, as a statistical research unit embodied in the Faculty of Economics & Political Science; Cairo University. The center is a self-directed entity; it has the full authority for its financial and managerial affairs. CSSA is headed by Mahmoud Rashwan.
The CSSA is established to enrich the up-to-date contributions of FEPS in the different areas of researches. The FEPS is rich with professionals in different branches of Statistics; Economics and Political science. Also it embraces centers of high reputation in different specializations.

CSSA is dedicated to: 

-  The coordination of the capabilities of professionals in various branches of Statistics, Economics and Political Science; in order to empower research related to society issues.

 -  Informing governmental and non governmental organizations about population, health, education problems, human development and environment.
