Welcome

Social sciences, of which all the specialties in Faculty of Economics and Political Science are belonging, represent a cornerstone in knowledge heritage of humanity. Aside to that in nowadays era, we witness astonishing developments in computation sciences and digitization and information technologies. It is the evolving intra-sciences of social computing that make the marriage of these fields possible and fruitful from the scientific and applied research prespectives. Social Media, E-Commerce and E-Government, for example, are typical applied outcomes of the interactions between humans' social activities and automated computation sciences, data science, and information technologies. The department of Socio-Computing in the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University is unique, not only in our country Egypt, but perhaps also in the middle east area as a whole. It is my pleasure and honour to introduce the department and my colleagues of faculty members and teaching assistants to our current and future students and researchers.
