Launching of Dr. Abdel Malek Ouda Research Chair s Activities in African Studies
Within the framework of cooperation between Faculty of Economics and Political Science (FEPS) and Kemet Boutros-Ghali Foundation for Knowledge and Peace, the Research Chair of Professor Dr. Abdel Malek Ouda in African Studies was established on 4th of June 2024.
This Chair is the second after Professor Dr. Boutros Ghali s Chair in International Law and International Organizations. The Head of the Chair s Board of Directors is Professor Dr. Hanan Mohamed Ali, Dean of FEPS. The Chair is held by Professor Dr. Ali El-Din Helal, Political Science Professor at FEPS, and its Board of Directors consists of Ambassador Laila Bahaa El-Din, Executive Director of the Kemet Foundation, and Dr. Hala Ahmed El-Rashidy, Director of the Centre for Political Research and Studies and Intercultural Dialogue.
The establishment of research chairs at the faculty comes in recognition of the role of its prominent professors in establishing it and developing its programs, which made it one of the most important specialized faculties in social sciences in Egypt and the Arab world. They also left bright fingerprints in both academic and practical fields. This is done by organizing scientific and cultural activities among students in the fields of specialization of the professor who the chair is named after him.
In this regard, the Chair organizes its activities in the context of the Centre for Political Research and Studies and Intercultural Dialogue, and begins its first activity by organizing a panel discussion entitled  -Ten Years after the Adoption of the African Union Agenda 2063: Successes and Failures-.

Professor Dr. Mohamed Ashour Mahdi, Professor of Political Science and International Law at the Faculty of Higher African Studies - Cairo University
Ambassador Nader Fath Al-Aleem Sir Al-Khatm, Head of the Permanent Delegation of the African Union to the League of Arab States.
The Panel will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at 12:00 p.m in Dr. Abdel Malek Ouda Hall - first floor - FEPS main building
