Dr. Israa Adel El Husseiny is an assistant professor at the Economics Department, School of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University. Dr. El Husseiny is actively involved in research about public economics and public finance with an emphasis on issues of budgeting and budgetary institutions, political economy, institutional economics, public financial management, and economics of public expenditure.
Dr. El Husseiny got her Ph.D. and Master degrees in Economics from the School of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University, in 2014 and 2009, respectively. She got a fellowship from the Institute of Law and Economics, Hamburg, Germany in 2012.
Dr. El Husseiny has been working as a budget, PFM and fiscal decentralization junior expert for different international institutions including the EU and the USAID, in several projects in Egypt.
Dr. El Husseiny’s research articles are mainly related to education finance, budgetary institutions, public expenditure allocations, and fiscal policy in Egypt.

Public finance and public economics, institutional economics, economics of education, macroeconomics.
