About Department

The Economics department was launched with the establishment of the faculty in 1960. The department offers B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees in Economics. It also provides courses in Economics for minor specialization for both Statistics and Political Science Departments at the faculty. Moreover, the members of the department are delegated to teach Economics classes for students in other faculties such as "Faculty of Commerce", "Faculty of Mass Communication", "Faculty of Engineering", "Faculty of Computer Science”, and "Faculty of Nursing”. In addition, the department offers training opportunities in many Economics fields. Besides, it performs numerous studies and researches for many organizations in different Economics fields. Also, it offers consultations for decision makers. The department arranges many conferences and seminars and participates in many Economic events.
