The Center for Institutions, Economics, and Law in Egypt (CIELE) at the Faculty of Economics and Political Science (FEPS);in cooperation with the Institute of Law and Economics (ILE) at the Faculty of law, Hamburg University, and the Center for Economic and Financial Research and Studies (CEFRS) at FEPS; are pleased to invite you to the two-day workshop on Law and Economics and Financial Integrity in the Egyptian Financial Sector. On the first day, the workshop will address the relationship between law and economics. The introductory lecture by the prominent scholar “Michael Faure” will provide a comprehensive view about the “economic analysis of the law” and how it started. The sessions delivered will also provide participants with an opportunity to discuss ongoing research in the economic analysis of law. All sessions during the first day will be conducted in English. On the second day, the workshop will include two sessions, in the first session Mr. Emad Ghaly CEO of Siemens will highlight the Siemens Story and the importance of financial integrity in the business sector in a global context. In the second part of the day, we will have panel discussion on financial integrity in the financial sector in Egypt, representatives from the CBE, EGX, the business community and the financial sector will help us define financial integrity and its importance in the financial sector in Egypt. The panelists will share their various experiences and identify the main stakeholders and the steps required for an efficient and well-functioning financial sector in Egypt. All sessions during the second day will be conducted in Arabic.
